Syed Abidi lauds NUTECH’s mission of empowering youth
LAHORE: Renowned educationist and career counselor Syed Azhar Husnain Abidi (TI) recently visited the National University of Technology (NUTECH) in Islamabad, where he delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the transformative role of engineering and technology in reshaping the global job market.
His visit emphasised the importance of aligning education with the evolving demands of the global economy and highlighted the emerging degrees and skills essential for students to secure opportunities to study and work abroad.
Established in 2015, NUTECH was conceived to address Pakistan’s economic challenges and the pressing need for high-quality, skilled human resources in applied sciences, engineering, and technology. The institution has since emerged as a beacon of innovation, fostering a robust science, engineering, and skills framework to prepare Pakistan’s youth as future industry leaders. By integrating applied education, research, and skill development, NUTECH aims to transform Pakistan’s industries into Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and maximise value addition in industrial products through high-end technology and innovation. NUTECH’s unique approach to applied research and technology-driven solutions has positioned it as a strategic partner for national and international industries. Its integration of academia, industry, and government through a triple-helix model promotes sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
The university’s programmes emphasise “Outside Classroom” learning opportunities, industrial leadership training, and technology-focused research groups, ensuring that students are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but also practical expertise.
