UVAS, UK varsity ink MoU on research

LAHORE:The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, has entered into a collaborative partnership with Teesside University UK, a growing research-based public sector university with campuses in Middlesbrough & London through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement aims to strengthen education and research ties between the two institutions. The signing ceremony was held at the UVAS City Campus, with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, TI) and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani representing UVAS.

Syed Abidi, a renowned educationist and Regional Director for Teesside University Pakistan and MENA, signed the MoU on behalf of Teesside University. Faculty members and officials from both institutions attended the event. Speaking at the ceremony, Prof Dr Muhammad Younus highlighted UVAS’s academic and research achievements, training programmes, and international collaborations. He emphasised the significance of such partnerships in advancing education and capacity building. Syed Abidi remarked that the collaboration would foster knowledge exchange, innovative practices, and the sharing of expertise. He emphasised the potential benefits for students and faculty, including opportunities for joint research projects, scholar exchanges, and skill development.

Under the MoU, both institutions will develop collaborative activities, including scholar exchanges, joint research initiatives, and student mobility programmes to enhance learning and build capacity. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation and academic excellence, promising mutual benefits for both institutions. The agreement marks a significant milestone in fostering global education and research ties, paving the way for impactful academic collaborations.
